Deferred Adjudication is a type of probation whereby you will not be convicted
of a crime, and have your case dismissed, if you can complete the term of
probation ordered by the court. Typically the courts will order a probation
period of 30 to 180 days. In addition, you will be required to pay fines and
fees to the court.
In order for your violation to be dismissed, you must
not have any moving violations with in the probation period. If no violations
appear on your driving record during your probation period, your violation will
be dismissed. Alternatively, if you get another moving violation during the
probation period, your probation will be revoked and you will be convicted of
the crime for which you were on probation. Resultingly, the conviction will show
up on your driving record and points will also be placed on your driving record.
